My number one concern as we hurtle towards the cooler months (or any month at all, really), is my skin. While I’m no longer experiencing hormonal breakouts reminiscent of my teen years, I’m still battling seasonal dryness/oiliness – though my skin issues have changed, they’re still about as stubborn as 13-year-old me.
I’d heard of The Ordinary before, but when you’re in the trenches fending off acne, the low prices (if you can you believe it) are often a deterrent. I’d tried $15 drugstore brands before, and all I got was an irritation and hydrogen peroxide bleached towels. I was convinced that the only answer was spending $140 on serums and lotions that promised to solve all my problems AND do my taxes.
Fast forward two years and one move to Brisbane later, when $140 is better spent on rent and you know, food, The Ordinary‘s day has come. Their student-friendly budget is the least of their selling points – potent, highly concentrated formulas bring out the best in my skin, with products to suit every single one of my concerns, sans gimmicks or tacky marketing ploys. All that AND under $30? Yes, please.
