Channeling Alexa Chung when I get dressed in the morning isn’t an unusual occurrence for me. Not hard to see why – she’s consistently styled impeccably, doesn’t look like she’s aged since she turned 20, and always looks like she’s just fresh from Glastonbury. Despite my best attempts at imitation, it doesn’t usually work out. Probably has something to do with the fact that I’m not 12 foot tall or an impossibly cool ‘It Girl’ with a vestiary Midas touch.

This feminine, flocked blouse makes it easy to pretend though, especially when paired with a red lip, ankle booties and a cigarette. The perfect mix of English rose and English rock and roll – fashion a lá Chung.

Wearing: silk top by Zara, vintage patent leather skirt, suede booties by Senso, fur clutch by Saint Jude
